“ Kain Tayo is my favorite Filipino restaurants in Saint Louis and I would go as far as saying it is one of my favorite restaurants PERIOD. The Filipino food is all very authentic and delicious. You know that no matter what you order it will be served with immense love and care. A favorite of mine is Chef Sally's Sisig, but I have enjoyed everything that I have ordered. The people who work are incredibly nice and make you feel welcomed every time you come. They also always seem very happy to share their food and culture with customers. I have been coming to Kain Tayo for nearly three years and I have seen the ambiance and aesthetic grow during that time. The decor is very cute and is all tied together very well. I also think that the karaoke stage is a fun touch, however I have only every seen it used once. In general, I love Kain Tayo and even while writing this review I have convinced myself to get it again some time very soon! ”
“ First time trying Filipino food and I'd say this was the place to do it. The place e was spotless clean and had a nice early dinner crowd. I'm told the neighborhood is in the revitalization stages and there isn't really anything around to draw visitors. It's a quick ride from the Arch and Ballpark. The food was excellent, definitely homemade. The waiter, and the rest of the staff, possibly family, was very freindly and helped us by describing the dishes and even how to eat it. It was a very warm type of experience to be slightly out of your element and have the waiter and others make suggestions ro make sure you enjoy the food. Everyone said goodbye as we were leaving. We got a slice of ube flan cake for dessert. It was very good. I wish I could remember the dishes we ordered but it doesn't much matter because everything was very good and would order anything off od the menu. ”
“ My husband found Kain Tayo when he was searching for a Filipino Restaurant for us to try. Since then, this restaurant owned by a very nice, down-to-earth and sweet lady and chef named Sally became our family's favorite! We've been here prolly 8-10 times for the last 5 months! Their menu's pretty straightforward and would definitely bring you back home! We tried almost everything on their menu and I could personally vouch on how everything's nothing but scrumptious! My husband's favorite though is the fried pompano! And today, we chose this restaurant for my birthday lunch! The whole crew came out when we were abt to leave and sang happy birthday while holding an ube flan cake. It made my day even more special! They wouldn't just treat you like a regular customer but more of a family!!! KUDOS KAIN TAYO TEAM! MARAMING SALAMAT PO SA INYO FOR MAKING US FEEL AT HOME EVERYTIME WE DINE IN! Sa marami-rami pa po nating pagsasama at pagsasaluhan! ”
“ I absolutely loved this place. I ordered the pork hock, and this thing was huuuuuge! I didn't specify when I ordered if I wanted the small or the large, but they brought me the large. It was so crispy and delicious I ate all of the meat off of it. I couldn't eat all of the crispy fat, but I really enjoyed a few bites of it along with the tender meat. I would definitely recommend this dish. ”
“ Best Filipino restaurant in St. Louis. Favorite dishes: Lechon Kawali, Becol Express, Sisig, Kare-Kare, their FLAN! ”
“ Always a great experience. Service is always stellar, it's like being with family. We tried the brunch and everything was amazing. What's even better than Filipino entrees- Filipino desserts. They have a display counter so you can see your options which made choosing even easier. I was too busy eating to take a picture of the menu. We ordered tacos as an appetizer, and pork belly with mashed potatoes. Both were cooked to perfection. I was looking to switch it up since they were out of my fav dessert Halo halo, so I tried the ube chocolate cake, which has a layer of FLAN. It was just as delicious as it sounds. ”
“ This is the second time I had been here. It was delicious. I love the space. It's very bright. This time I got the vegetarian pancit. My wife got the chicken adobo, and of course we got lumpia. Everything was great! I will say, if you're in a hurry, maybe go somewhere else. From the time we got there until the time we got our food was about an hour. It might take that long to cook, if they are cooking to order, but it really took way too long. Do it!!! ”
“ Calling all Filipino food fans (or adventurous foodies)! Kain Tayo is a hidden gem serving up authentic Filipino cuisine. They offer the option to dine inside or relax on their patio, perfect for enjoying the fresh air. I had their pork adobo, and it was a flavor explosion! The savory and tangy notes were balanced, making for a delicious experience. Their menu features a wide variety of Filipino classics, from appetizers to stews. The portions are generous, so come hungry or bring a friend to share! Whether you're already familiar with Filipino food or just looking to explore new and exciting flavors, Kain Tayo is a must-try. ”
“ I've always wanted to try a Filipino restaurant, and I loved everything I tried here last night! There's plenty of metered street parking nearby. There's a few tables outside, and the interior is beautiful with flowers hanging from the ceiling and a photo-worthy green backdrop. Apparently they have karaoke some nights! We ordered chicken adobo, grilled pork belly with rice, pancit canton, lumpia appetizers, and fried chicken per the waiter's request. The fried chicken was crispy and delicious. My family found the pork belly a little too chewy, but I loved the tangy lemony flavor. The chicken adobo was amaaazing and I would love to come back for that again! The flavor combination of bay leaf, peppercorn, garlic seasoning was perfection in the chicken adobo. Pancit canton noodles came with plenty of veggies! And finally, my kids' favorite part was the halo halo dessert--shaved ice, creamy ube ice cream that the restaurant handmakes, red beans, jackfruit, condensed milk, flan, and nata de coco. Super refreshing for a hot summer day, and there was enough for 5 of us to share it. ”
